A few weeks ago, the National Immigration Service of the Republic of Panama temporarily suspended the issuance of tourist visas to citizens with Cuban nationality. This reality generated a lot of uncertainty due to the fact that the Cuban citizens applying for this visa are mainly citizens engaged in commerce and have special ties with the purchase of goods in the Colon Free Zone.
The National Immigration Service informed that the "temporary suspension" of this type of visa is due to the fact that the Panamanian immigration authorities are conducting a review of the entry to the country under this category.
It should be recalled that on July 1 of this year the new government took office and it is very common for measures to be taken to evaluate previous administrations. It should be recalled that the previous Government had granted since October 2018, to tourists and businessmen who regularly enter Panama from the Republic of Cuba, the so-called stamped visa for multiple entries and exits for up to a term of five (5) years.
Due to this situation, the National Immigration Service has stipulated the following requirements for all those Cuban citizens who wish to enter Panamanian territory:
1.Power of attorney and application.
2. Copy of passport (integral).
3. Copy of Cuban ID card.
4. Certified check or money order ($500.00)
5. Invitation Letter (if it could be included in the file it would help).
6. Identity card or DNI of the person who invites.
7. Copy of the Public Service of the person who invites.
8. Payment of Migratory Services (calculated depending on nationality - $100.00).
9. Three passport size photos.
10. Air Ticket.
11. Proof of reservation.
